Delft Chamber Music Festival

Every summer the picturesque town of Delft becomes the backdrop to one of Europes most beloved chamber music festivals, the Delft Chamber Music Festival. Established in 1997 by Isabelle van Keulen en Marianne Brinks and since 2007 under the artistic directorship of Liza Ferschtman, the festival spans 9 days and brings some of the worlds finest musicans together, like Robert Hall, Oleg Maisenberg, Elisabeth Leonskaja, Christianne Stotijn, Nicolas Altsaedt, Dmitry Sitkovetsky, Jonathan Biss, Aleksander Madzar, the Belcea Quartet, Midori, Alexander Rudin, Inon Barnatan, Nicholas Daniel, Herve Joulain, Alina Ibragimova,Marie Luise Neunecker, Pascal Moragues, Christian Poltera, Torleif Thedeen,  Alisa Weilerstein, the Hilliard Ensemble, Jennifer Stumm, the Doric Quartet, Lars Anders Tomter and many more.
Each festival Liza takes a theme and through sub-themes in every concert, explores al the musical, literally and figuratively, sides. In the past years she has used themes like; Between Dream and Reality, War and Peace, Play!, I Believe, Dedicated to.. and  En Route. There are usually about 18 to 20 concerts every festival.
In 2014 the festival will take place between the 25th of July and the 3rd of August.
